This week the Zoomers have summarised some tips on summer activities and local places to visit. We hope you like it.
Early morning kayaking or canoeing
Go canoeing or kayaking in a lake or in the sea. It is the perfect way to experience the Gothenburg archipelago, but it can also be done in all parts of Sweden and is always lovely to do.
Horseback riding on Icelandic horses
Another summer activity that we can recommend is horseback riding, for example in Eskilsby gård, Landvetter. They offer a calm and safe ride in walks for adults and children from 4 years, and they have a lovely café. Every Sunday from 11 am.
Take a hiking route
Go for a swim in a lake or beach.
In Sweden there are over 100 000 lakes and that you can jump in and swim. You don't have to go far to find water :) Here you'll find some of the cliffs and beaches in Gothenburg where you can go for a swim.
Explore an island in the archipelago
Sweden has tens of thousands of lakes and islands. The archipelagos of Gothenburg and Stockholm are just a short ride from the city centres.
If you are in Gothenburg and don't own your own boat, the northern part of the archipelago is to recommend now in these extraordinary times, since you can bring your car and don't need to be so close to people on the boat as you are on the ferries going out to the southern islands.
Have an outdoor picnic
Summer is probably the best time of the year for picnics – sitting on a blanket in the grass, eating sandwiches, salads, cold cuts, fruit and pastries and drinking hot or cold drinks. A picnic outdoors in the summer is always a good idea!
Backgammon is one of the oldest known board games. Its history can be traced back nearly 5,000 years to archaeological discoveries in Mesopotamia.
Frösakull beach is at least as nice as the well-known beach in Tylösand, but here it is calmer. If you do not want to be crowded in Tylösand, Frösakull will be your new favourite beach. Equally fine sand and water, and significantly more space.
Shop at Patriks prylar
If you are looking for a unique and exciting interior design store in the country where you can find the interior detail that no one else has, then you should visit Patriks prylar in Halmstad.
Explore Halleberg/Hunneberg in Vargön
The mountains have unique geology and rich nature that has captivated people for thousands of years. Today, several associations and organisations work to preserve and nurture the mountains' fantastic natural and cultural heritage, but also to create conditions for recreation and outdoor life.
Visit Pater Noster on the West coast
Pater Noster is a Swedish lighthouse, and the name of a small archipelago in Bohuslän on the Swedish west coast.
The Labbera peninsula in Rådasjön
Råda Säteri, Mölnlycke is nice for a walk and to take a swim in the lake by the little beach area Hästviken.
Visit Spinneriet Lindome
Find nice interior design shops and a nice restaurants/cafés in Spinneriet Lindome.
Have a great summer, and take care of yourself!
